Founder’s Day is extremely important for the STM community for two reasons: it is a day on which we celebrate achievement – our many achievements, individual and collective; second, it is an important occasion for the whole STM Community to be together, to do things together, and to remember that we are an important and strong community – the whole is stronger than the sum of its parts. We need this occasion especially this year just to remind us that we do not work, or live or play in isolation. We do it as a team – a great village which has stood the test of time and which has a great, great history. Founder’s Day is an opportunity to congratulate our honorees, and to pay tribute to their achievements, as well as for all of us to take visible, obvious pride in our school and church.
This year, Mrs. Juli Jensen-Derrig, was honored posthumously. Founders' day is a day we will remember the founders of our church and school, and value their legacy. We are indebted to those who had the vision that led to the creation of our school in 1898 and our church in 1862, and who have contributed to the leadership and vision of the community since. We owe them a debt of gratitude – without them this blessed school and church simply would not exist. Without Juli, St. Mary’s Parish School would not be what it is today and we are eternally grateful for the time she gave us.
THANK YOU! to all those who generously contributed to our 2022 Founders' Day campaign.
