Sr. Christine Lavoie Scholarship

Sr. Christine Lavoie, SSJ, served as principal of St. Mary's Parish School for 17 years from the late 1980s to 2004, and was moreover instrumental in founding our early childhood program. The sign outside our PreK building bears her name alongside Fr. Brian McGrath.She additionally served as interim principal after Juli-Jensen Derrig's leave in 2020, and was an honoree at our Founders' Day in 2021 for her dedication and service to St. Mary's Parish and St. Mary's Parish School. During the Founders' Day Mass, Sr. Christine said she was accepting the honor on behalf of all of the Sisters of St. Joseph, who worked at the school for the first 118 of its 123-year history. Sr. Christine was the last sister to be an employee of St. Mary’s Parish School.
Qualifications for applicants:
- Must have a child currently in our PreK program and planning to enter kindergarten
- Must be active member of St. Mary's Parish (attends church services)
